This page will only be of interest to people who like walking
and who might like to try parts of the Fife Coastal Path (F.C.P.).
It is a personal account of my walks on the (F.C.P.). The site is intended to help prospective walkers to find easy start points, parking etc. The Fife Coastal Path is situated in the East of Scotland and covers most of the Fife coastline. I live in Buckhaven, Fife which is pretty much in the middle of the walk. Over the years, I've walked local parts but this year (Summer,2003) I decided to broaden my range. I did bits here and bits there, just whatever I fancied at the time. I'll start from the Forth rail bridge and head East, ending at the Tay Road Bridge. You can pick any start point you like and walk any direction that suits you. Where I refer to "follow the signs" these could be cycle routes as well as paths. Please note that walking at high tide (on parts of the walk) is difficult at best, and not possible at worst. Update : 7th September 2003. There is now a new path between Leuchars and Tentsmuir Forest. Check it out on the 'Main Text' page. Update : 5th June 2004. The path from Kingsbarns to St. Andrews has been greatly improved . See "Main Text". Update : 9th July 2004. 'Monster Rock' Pic added. See Main Text (Crail to Kingsbarnes to St. Andrews). Update: 22nd August 2004. I've just finished the walk from St. Andrews (North) to Leuchars. See "Main Text". Update: 5th April 2005. Added a couple of pics. Seen a few new signposts lately, which is good news. Update: 15th May 2005. The path from Leuchars to Tents Muir Forest is now signposted. They are quite difficult to spot, but they are there. Look for small brown signs mounted on metal poles. Walking in the opposite direction, i.e. from Tents Muir forest car park, there is no longer a sign: 'Canal Loch Road'. There is however a FCP disc mounted on a wooden post opposite the gate (the sign will be on the right hand side of the road). Update: 25th April 2007. Sadly we lost Suzie to cancer last night. She is now walking in doggy heaven. Any Questions, comments etc.. please e-mail me at:- billfcp@yahoo.co.uk |
